Coffee Business Connection (CBC) is an online education hub for professionals in the coffee industry, that are looking to take their businesses to the next level. CBC accomplishes this through connecting rising professionals with industry leaders who share their expertise on skillsets such as roasting in-house, creating better system structures, leadership and team development, marketing, branding, and financial literacy. All of this culminates in their biyearly live online event CBC Live, which they host over the course of two days, featuring 16 speakers across every part of the industry.
The ultimate goal of Coffee Business Connection is to bridge the gap between veterans of industry and newcomers, in order to foster a more connected and community-oriented coffee industry.

When developing the logo, it was essential to create a system that featured a primary logo that served as the main point of identification for CBC's everyday operations, as well as a secondary logo that served as the mark for their CBC Live event. As a new business, it was important to the client that name recognition be at the forefront, along with a strong presence of maturity and approachability, as a trusted partner in the world of coffee education and mentorship.
This brought us to a wordmark that utilizes a semi-serif typeface, which embodies something classic and traditional yet slightly friendly and modern. The stacked aspect allows for the lengthier name to be implemented across many use cases while maintaining legibility, and the slight angle hints at being action-oriented and forward-thinking. The variation for the event logo takes inspiration from "ON AIR" signs used across television, radio, and now podcast stations indicating that a broadcast or recording is actively taking place.
