Children's Backpack Project Handouts
Font & Color Selection | Page Layout
The Children's Backpack Project is a multi-organizational initiative that offers weekend hunger-relief for school-aged children facing food insecurity, through volunteer-packed bags filled with kid-friendly snacks and easy-to-cook food.
This series of handouts reflects a commitment to serving these organizations as effectively as possible, by ensuring they have the tools and resources needed to provide food that is both nutritionally beneficial and appealing to the children they serve. The handouts unfold in two phases. The first phase breaks down survey findings from eight participating organizations, detailing their current offerings, the challenges they face, and the support they're seeking moving forward. The second phase builds on these survey results, offering healthy food swaps and nutritional tips that help organizations make meaningful improvements to the nutritional quality of the items backpack recipients receive.
My work on this project involved curating a dynamic color palette inspired by natural hues, selecting an approachable and highly-legible typeface, and translating complex data into visually appealing and easy-to-understand formats.
Senior Nutrition Toolkit

The Senior Nutrition toolkit is a comprehensive body of work that was developed with two key purposes in mind; to better inform food bank staff and volunteers on the nutritional needs of their senior clients, in order to better serve and support them, and to directly equip senior clients with the tools necessary to look after their own health, as they continue to age. I worked with WFC staff to establish a visual identity for the 24-page toolkit, through color and type selection, along with leading the construction of the toolkit's layout, in both a print and digital format.
